In order for leaders to be successful, they must be mindful of a number of things that go well beyond the realm of training and skills. Effective leaders are constantly aware of the human element in organizations. .
             Virtue Two: Build An Impeccable Character.
             What does it mean to build a character? What does character mean? Character is a Latin word that is derived from the Greek word charakter. The word means the public's estimation of someone. It refers to the combination of qualities or features that distinguishes one person from another. The character of a person can be either good or bad. Reputation must be carefully guarded and managed, and the person is actually aware that scandal based on a momentary lapse of judgment or a lack of moral firmness can damage he or she has worked to create. Conforming to the expectations of society is important to the success of a leader. Men and women were assumed responsible for their actions and held themselves accountable attain the stated objectives of the organization, within the limits of the law. The individual is often responsible for his or her own downfall. In the American culture, life is based on the notion of rugged individualism. We cannot take credit for our successes and blame others for our mistakes. We have to accept responsibility for both because we are the makers of our destinies, whether it's good or bad. Americans would agree that they were consumed with greed, power, and arrogance. Some leaders have a tendency to become intoxicated with power. They are arrogant, aggressive, vain, and egotistical, and they see themselves as being better than their fellow Americans. Many have an attitude problem, and either don't fully understand the realities of social existence or dismiss them perfunctorily. The very thing that brought happiness – power and influence- will bring shame and dishonor when it is all over with. Intelligent men and women understand the basic guiding principle that increasing power brings increasing responsibility.
