             Single sourcing is a very good way to build relationships with supplier's though there are a few fall down's when single sourcing. .
             Single Sourcing Disadvantages.
             Increased cost through lack of competitive pressure.
             Increases supplier vulnerability.
             Reduced market intelligence.
             The main disadvantage is the increased cost brought to the buying company, though traditional views where companies simply try to obtain the minimum price are now much dated. Allegiance can compensate for these disadvantage's by providing companies with the advantage's listed above, though companies need to make sure that the supplier they choose is of good credit and reliable.
             Customers then make there buying decision based on different factors.
             A theory that might explain why I would choose to use Allegiance as my supplier is from Bonama & Johnstone (1978). These theorists have placed more recognition onto the purchasing manager of a company. The purchasing manager will have a mental ranking of companies whether this be correct or not and that suppliers will be mathematically chosen depending on there importance ranking. This can be linked to Sherth's theory.
             Sherth suggested that when choosing a supplier, the main,.
             " Importance was placed on information sources consulted by buyers.""(Sherth, 1973).
             .
             These could have been sources such as journal advertisements or just simple word of mouth. Sherth went on to say that this,.
             "Illustrates why individuals have different expectations of a particular supplier."".
             Appendix 1 and 2 show positive publications from the Financial Times towards Allegiance, buyers many have consulted this to build up their attitude towards Allegiance Corporation. This provides evidence to why Allegiance is successful.
             To conclude the general attitude and public perception of the supplier may have a huge impact on sales/demand. And as Allegiance Corporation has a good one then it may explain my positive attitude towards them and reason for choosing them.
