College Students and Homework

College life can be very challenging period for students. In this period, students are most likely to be very ambitious. They are keen on taking risks and challenging themselves. Their curiosity to discover new things increases every day. They are excited to explore a new world which leads them to pursue goals that can be difficult to reach. The more they explore, the more ready they are to conquer the world. To them, nothing is impossible and they make even their seemingly impossible goals possible. However, there are some students who can reach maturity by experiencing step by steps while others still can harsh to succeed their goals fast. If they don't get the maximum result they aimed for a short time, it will be hard for them to try again in the future. As a proverb says, "a burnt child dreads the fire," which means bad experiences make people think more and try to rationalize mistakes they have made. Students should understand that they can learn from their mistakes and nothing is bad if they make a mistake once. Amongst all of these life experiences or challenges, students at college should focus on their studies. They should make more effort and be patient to learn new things and succeed in gaining knowledge. Practice makes perfect. Today teachers complain that students are lazy and do not practice much. But progress will be seen only when students make extra learning time after-school. Therefore, college students would succeed much better in their studies if they spend more time doing homework. .
One reason why students spend less time practicing outside of class is motivation. Students are not motivated enough to study because they do not choose a major according to their will or desire. On one hand, their parents can decide what their children can study at college and push them to follow what they believe is the best. For example, if a father is an accountant, he might influence his son's decision to choose a major related to accounting because he is a successful accountant.
