College Students and Homework

This way can work for some students, but not all students are happy to follow the same steps as their parents. An article in USA Today journal reports that in a 2008 survey, about 80% of first year college students stated that their parents interfered in various college activities including their choice and enrollment (Marklein D.8). On another hand, students are not mature enough when making their choices, so they choose something because it is popular or 'cool' to their friends. They do not realize the importance of their choice for the future. They also do not value time and they do not realize that wasted time cannot come again. The more time they save for studying, the better chance they have to develop not only a professional life but also personal life. Moreover, the importance of long term as well as short term goals is the foundation of their development. Once they draw a clear map, they should balance every activity realizing there is no wrong, right or perfect action. The balance is important to rationalize their activity. .
In addition to the lack of motivation, their interests can dominate over their goals. Interests can be different. One time they enjoy parties and hang out with friends. Another time they fall in love and cannot control their feelings. As a result, they miss classes so they find themselves far behind the rest of the class. Consequently, it becomes harder and harder to catch up. Instead of making an effort to catch up, they often postpone assignments for tomorrow, which never comes. Yes, relaxing is important; however, it should not prevent students from studying and achieving good grades. Again, students should balance their time for entertainment and studies. They should learn to manage their time and organize their activities. Both entertainment and studies can be harmonized if students can find a way to balance them. .
Furthermore, parents as well as teachers are the main people to direct students.
