Mildred Montag, the callous wife of Guy Montag suffers from severe depression, but fails to commit the many previous suicides. She obsesses over the TV walls and the imaginary families shown in every episode to try to avoid confronting her own miserable life. Mildred is always there when Montag needed her especially after knowing the "big" secret. She acquiesces to Montag's commands and helps him to protect the books until the final betrayal. The other character that distinguishes from the community is Professor Faber. He is both dominant and cowardice. After Captain Beatty introduced Montag to Faber, he tries to take as much advantage from Montag as possible. He shows his dominant side by controlling Montag's every action during the conversation with Beatty. At the same time, too apprehensive to accomplish his goals on his own. Faber can also be described as generous and affectionate. When Montag came to him for help, he willingly abetted him in any way possible and helped him to escape from the police. Clarisse McClellan, a seventeen-year-old outcast conceals her eccentric lifestyle until she comes across Montag. She enjoys doing things such as hiking, playing with flowers as well as asking random questions, which is abnormal compare to others living in the community. She unlocks Guy Montag's naive mind into a whole new dimension by fascinating him with her outrageous questions, unorthodox lifestyle, perceptive observation as well as "incredible power of identification". The last character with significant contributions to the story is Granger. He is the leader of a special group of men who all seize a major piece of literature in their memory. Granger abets Montag through the escape by constantly informing Montag about the location of the police as well as using the portable TV set to display live images of the chase. He also gives Montag a bottle of special fluid to make Montag less conspicuous, which eventually distracted the police.
