Discuss the Significance of Meat eating and Stone Tool making for Human evolution.
I cannot imagine a world with no tools,. No Hardware stores or Auto Shops. I am after all a MAN, a member of the armed forces, and a Male, and sometimes I just want to hear the sound of a saw blade cutting wood.
If we did not have tools how would we have a house to live in, or cars to drive to and from work, we would have no place to work in because they would never have been built. Without tools the world, as we know it is nothing. .
This is the world that Early Man faced; they had nothing but rocks and sticks. And were for the most part forest dwellers who lived in the world as a gatherer of food or foraged for vegetation in his own environment, He had a very large skull and large Teeth, and appears to have had a very large digestive tract, However, a smaller brain and what appears to be a smaller thought process or need for additional multipliers in their world. Homo Habilis is the term used to describe the first man or hominid with a larger brain, which allowed him to have the ability to do more things. The best illustration to this theory is the discovery of "Lucy" by Dr. Johansen in Hadar Ethiopia, and the discovery of Turkahna Boy found in Kenya. Lucy appears to have a long Trunk, Large hands, large Skull and Jawbones. Lucy is the first official Biped that is she could walk upright in a modified manner but apparently used the trees as a form of housing and protection. Lucy was discovered to have had and used chipped stones as tools to gather and consume food. Turkahna Boy was found to be more similar in appearance to what we are as human and not so much as an ape like Lucy was, He had with him at time of discovery more modern tools made from Lava Quartz, and Wood items. Because early man lacked size and strength, killing animals was a chore, they used certain objects to kill and eat these animals.
