TIME TO KILL

Should Carl Lee turn a blind eye to that? Should he empathize with Carl Lee's grief as a father or should he do the right thing? .
But even if he does do the right thing and Carl Lee is executed, how "right" are his actions when there are other lives at stake? What about his children growing up fatherless? .
In this situation, what would the "right thing" be for Carl Lee? Should he bend the law for his client or obey his duty as a lawyer?.
             Examples.
             1. ????????.
             2. When a friend asks you to help you in a test by letting you cheat from her you may face a similar ethical dilemma. Loyalty would require you to accept and help your friend even thought you know what your friend is doing is wrong. You also have to do the right thing. Cheating is immoral, it is wrong. Should you be cheating? However if your friend's parents are very strict and may hurt her greatly if she doesn't do well enough protecting her will also become an issue. Should you turn a blind eye when your friend may face great amounts of pain at home? Should you try to protect your friend by doing something immoral?.
             Ethical Issue 2 .
Should a lawyer defend an admitted murderer?.
             YES.
             1. Bentham.
Because he believed that we should tally the consequences of each action we perform and thereby determine on a case by case basis whether a action is morally right or wrong.
Bentham would support the lawyer in his decision to defend because in turn he will be saving not only Carl Lee's life but also the lives of the rest of the members in his family and Carl Lee is the only earning member.
             2. John Steward Mill.
According to a rule utilitarianism a behavior code of rule is morally right if the consequences of adopting that rule are more favorable than unfavorable to everyone.
More lives are saved by the lawyers decision to defend Carl Lee.
The law is based on this rule of ethics too. That is why each man is innocent until proven guilty. That way every man will be able to receive a fair trial.
