At this point in time, I have yet to decide what I want to be when I grow up. I hope to attend a state college and major in business or something computer related. Recently the occupation of computer networking has been introduced to me. From all that I have learned about it, it seems to be a good choice for a career.
Although I am not sure if computer networking is for me, the profession has many good benefits. One such benefit is the fact that computers are the wave of the future and a networking professional will be in high demand. Also, the average computer networker makes up to 100 thousand dollars a year. Finally, a computer networker needs no excess schooling; a five-year degree is sufficient to land a very good job as a computer-networking professional.
In the duration of my high school career, I will have taken many classes that will help me succeed in the computer-networking field. One class in particular is the Cisco Networking Academy, which, if completed, qualifies me as a Cisco certified networker. This certification is very prestigious to have at such a young age and will definitely help me get into college and get a good job. Near the end of the class I will be given an internship at a top computer-networking company, which could help me meet people in the business and get experience with the profession first hand. .
Becoming a computer networker seems to be the best route to go in life, but if I choose another profession it most likely would be an orthodontist. I have braces and seeing them go into place intrigues me. My friend's dad is an orthodontist and he makes good money and does not seem to work all of the time. Having some free time off is a must for the career of my choice. I do not know much about being an orthodontist, but I still think of it as a possible career.
I realize that all of my career goals are set high, but I believe I have an edge over the competition by doing the Cisco Networking Academy.
