"There is much to criticize about the press, but not before recognizing a ringing truth: the best of the American press is an extraordinary daily example of industry, honesty, conscience, and courage, driven by a desire to inform and interest readers". .
Ben Bradlee ( 1996) .
The mediated approach that I chose was the news, which includes radio, newspapers and television. I chose this approach because I feel that news has a powerful affect on society and the way they view things that are happening in the world. News influences societies view on political, economic and social issues. I view news as the most important form of media, because without news we would not know what is going on in the world. "A major news event can occur unexpectedly somewhere in the world at any moment -- the explosion of a jet airliner in midair, a terrorist bombing of an American military facility, the assassination of a world leader, an outbreak of war in the Middle East, a major oil spill in an ecologically sensitive region. On hearing about a major news event, millions of Americans then turn to their television sets or radio to learn more". News is the way we share information, not only locally but national and worldwide. There are three forms of news that society uses everyday. As I mentioned before, the three forms are radio, newspapers and television. Radio news is very useful for commuters, if you need to know about traffic and weather there are updates all the time. Theses are two forms of radio news, local radio news and national radio news. Local radio news informs you of what is going on in your city and county. National radio news informs you of what is going on in your country. They are both very good forms of radio news. Newspapers are another way to get information which is written. On Sunday's the average American reads the Sunday paper while drinking coffee in a robe. Television news is by far the best form of the three forms of news.
