Subject: comment on the use of the web in business today.
Nowadays, the internet is more and more used all over the world and it will undoubtedly go on developing, that is why most firms now use it. There can not be denying that the web has made easier the relations between firms and between the firms and their clients; as a consequence, most companies have got a website. However, there are firms that have got one but they do not take advantage of it: they just want to do like the others. .
.
Lots of firms use the net as a real tool today. The internet enables them to present their products and their latest models: by looking at a company's website, people can see what it sells. Moreover, the web offers the firms another way of advertisement. Indeed, they can advertise on the internet. .
The internet has taken the place of the fax, and sometimes of the phone and letters. Electronic mail is much faster, it is instantaneous. Moreover, it enables companies to send much information to people who ask it, because it does not cost anything. And if the people who receive it just need some pieces of this information, they do not have to print everything.
It enables firms to have their products commanded on line, and even paid on line. It helps them to cut costs. Indeed, firms often do not need any more to send catalogues and moreover, people have more choice and more time to choose when they are on line. Effectively, when they are in a shop or when they are standing in a queue, they do not dare asking all that they want to know. .
There are firms that use the web a lot. There are even companies that could no more do without the web. We can speak of Easy Jet for instance, that have in prospect to do everything on the web: people will be compelled to book their seats on the internet, because there won't be agents any more. Everything will take place on the web. .
With the web, companies can more easily have access to information about their competitors: they can see what products they offer, they can compare the prices, the products, so they can anticipate.
