The Effects Of Globalization

(http://www.consciouschoice.com/issues/cc094/economicglobal.html, 1996).
Mixed in with culture is always a language. Think now what would happen if several businesses or groups started exchanging information, goods, or services? Would there have to be a common language or would all parties have to learn several languages to be able to communicate with the other groups? This concept is something that will have to take place one way or another and can be a very controversial topic. For instance, if there was going to be a common language, what would it be and who would decide? On a global scale this could be very difficult and time consuming to solve. As people come together they may have very much different view on things. This widespread combination will require something that is lacking in many individuals in the world today: tolerance. If this cannot be accomplished, then globalization will have extreme negative effects. .
Globalization is mostly connected with the economy. The primary reason globalization occurs is because businesses feel the need to expand there reaches into other nations to gain profit. In an attempt to do this corporations actually diminish the boarders between distant and neighboring nations. This in a sense is the Industrial age and information age combining. It allows Industries to reach out and expand by using modern technology. The reason businesses are doing this is simple: it is very cost efficient and saves them money. When this happens though, it encourages situations like sweatshops to form in foreign countries and all workers for that business will be paid less and less. As a result of this, the original workers will acquire less power competing with people that will work for almost nothing. They also will receive fewer benefits and longer hours. A positive result of this is that prices will fall for the consumers and there will be more jobs overall.
