It is essential for people to interact, and have trust in superiors and subordinates because it is central to organizational work (Lee, 1999; Feeley & Young, 2000; Ellis & Zalabak, 2001). Everyday conversations are an important aspect to unfolding human relationships, which contributed to the effectiveness of the organization (Cooper, 1997; Finucane, 2002). Individuals form their relationships through previous occurrences that create certain expectations, attitudes, beliefs and social norms. " Expectations influence behaviors no matter what the specific context because the expectations are powerful motivators or "primers" toward goal accomplishment" (Lee, 1999, p. 416). Listening competency is a desirable skill in organizational settings. It can improve work productivity and satisfaction (Cooper, 1997; Finucane, 2002). Certain oral communication competencies are essential for the workplace as well, especially when trying to detect lies and truths within co-workers (Ellis & Zalabak, 2001; Feeley & Young, 2000; Harvey, Geall & Moon, 1997; Maes, Weldy & Icenogle, 1997; Spillan, Mino & Rowles, 2002). In order to have effective communication of any kind, people at all levels of the organizational hierarchy need to achieve the organizations missions and goals (Spillan, Mino & Rowles, 2002; Lee, 1999). In order to implement these goals, proper competencies within organizations, and the interaction between superior and subordinate must become the organizational norm (Lee, 1999; Spillan, Mino & Rowles, 2002; Feeley & Young, 2000). .

The desirable skills that individuals should have for the workplace are cognitive skills, like reading, writing, and computing. Along with this, communication skills, analytical skills, problem solving and creative thinking are also important. On the technical side, computers skills are essential because they are now used not only to increase production but also to enhance customer delivery.
