Super Bowl 2004

The game of football is a very interesting game. Sometimes you think you know what is going to happen, and then it all changes on you. A perfect example of my opinion is the 2004 NFL (National football league) playoffs. The playoffs start with twelve teams, six in the AFC and six in the NFC. These teams are supposed to be the twelve best teams in the NFL. This is where the intriguing things start to happen.
My whole argument is very simple, I do not understand why the teams that seems to be stacked with talent struggle to make the playoffs or make it to the super bowl. The teams I will be using for an example in my paper are the Pittsburgh Steelers. This is a team with three probowl caliber receivers, a probowl running back, and several defensive standouts. By listening to this list of players I just named you would think this team is super bowl bound. My friend you are very wrong just like I was. The season started out fine, they won their first game and then they proceeded on to get stomped by the Kansas City Chiefs, the Denver Broncos, and the Cleveland Browns. If ever you heard of a let down then the Steelers are a perfect example of one, or another word that comes to my mind is under achievers.
In conclusion, all I am saying is that a person should not go by just rosters or what a team is predicted to do. If this was correct then a team like the Steelers would have no problem winning their division, and then going on to win the super bowl. When you watch a sport like football for a long time like I have been watching, you do not become surprised when a team loaded with talent falters off during the season. As a matter of fact you start to expect good teams to lose and the underdog the team that at first were expected to lose to go all the way and win it all.
