The Bond Epic

In this film Bond, is sent to Japan to where he is disguised as a slightly taller than average Japanese man. He must stop Ernst Stavro Blofled, Bond's archenemy, from stealing spacecrafts from both the East and the West, which is turning the countries against each other and will inevitably cause a war. Connery's last Bond film for MGM was Diamonds Are Forever, released in 1971, in which, Blofled, a reoccurring villain that killed Bond's wife in a previous film (not starring Connery), comes back to haunt James and steal a few diamonds at the same time. James meets two interesting women along the way, Tiffany Case and Plenty O'Toole, who become distractions that almost keep him from accomplishing his mission. Also, Bond is thrown in the middle of a mass array of villains who will do anything to stop him from foiling their jewel smuggling party. Bond, as usual, defeats all the villains and at the same time wins over all the women and also happens to keep his hair perfect the whole movie. These six films set the bar for the rest of the actors who would later on take Connery's place as James Bond. Although unknown to many of the newer Bond fans, Connery also starred as James Bond in Never Say Never Again, which was released in between two Roger Moore films. It is not well known because it was not produced by MGM, and was also a cheap rip off of Connery's earlier film Thunderball. It had a lot of the same characters and basically the same plot. In essence it would be Connery's seventh film and make a total of twenty-one films, but since it is not produced by MGM it not part of the collection .
The next actor, who played 007, was an Australian model, George Lazenby, with great on-screen fighting skills. He starred in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, released in 1969, which was filmed in between Connery's two films, You Only Live Twice and Diamonds Are Forever. In this film, Bond meets Blofeld for the second and most regrettable time in which his wife, Countess Tracy di Vicenzo, is murdered shortly after they are married.
