5% of the girls in the 8th grade listen to heavy metal, and 95% listen to other music. Boys that listen to heavy metal is 51% and 49% listen to other music. That means three girls out of 58 interviewed will think about suicide and 41 boys out of 81 will think about suicide at Miller Middle School. Those kids are not bad but it is what the music is saying and drugs have a big effect on suicide. .

Most parents do not except their child to give signs so they do not look for them. Parents of teenagers that have committed suicide, have said that they have seen some kind of warning sign. 70-75% of people use some sign of attempts. Sometimes they want attention yet they could end up being successful. Also a child's personality will change. They may complain about feeling rotten inside and giving verbal hints like " I will not be a problem for you much longer, Nothing matters, It is no use, I will not see you again." They could also give away favorite possessions, or even throw away very important things. They could become suddenly cheerful after a period of depression.
