Men's magazines are similar to women's magazines in very few ways. They both display clothing, hygiene products, and stories of life. GQ is kind of similar to women's fashion magazines such as Vogue and Bazarre. There were many pages of advertisements by Prada, Gucci, Banana Republic, and numerous others. There were many ads on alcohol, cigarettes, cars, shoes, and clothing. The magazine contained very little content than a women's magazine. It had few contents on music by Mary J. Blige and some unknown band from Kentucky. There were few articles on sex, but a good amount of profane language. There was a story on Iraq, but not on the devastation and sadness of the people. It was a story on how people made themselves happy such as sending in clowns for the children. It showed tips on how to dress like the president and the right clothing for fishing. Most women in men's magazines are shown in a sexual appealing way. They seem to never have on a business suit, but mostly swim suits and other sexy apparel. There's a couple of columns on sports such as football and fishing. A women's magazine would have very few articles on sports. The article in a women's magazine would show much pride in having a woman represent the female gender in any sport. The article in a men's magazine, would write about it in a usual tone because they seem to dominate most popular sports. Women's magazines would have a make-up bag and what women usually put in it such as lipstick and foundation. In a men's bag, there would be deodorant, shaving cream, razor, and maybe a bottle of cologne. There's a lot of new technology in men's magazines such as a picture of the new fold-up keyboard and a laptop with a rotatable screen. Whereas a women's magazines would have a new way of decorating a room or putting on make-up. There was at least an interesting story of a man who lived in an airport terminal for fifteen years.
