An example of Altruistic suicide can be seen in the Islamic terrorist organizations. Anomic suicide has too little regulation and normative constraint, and behaviors are not regulated very well (Hurst 2000: 55-56). Teenagers can be viewed as an example of Anomic suicide. Fatalistic suicide has the characteristics of too much regulation and too restrictive of norms. It is a situation of complete oppression (Hurst 2000: 55-56). This component of suicide is common amongst slaves. Durkheim's view on sociology and suicide was seen as an objective science. He viewed the idea and act of suicide as being related entirely to social facts and society. In his eye, there were social facts that existed in society. Social facts are known as common ways of acting which generally accepted throughout a given society, while at the same time existing in its own right independently of its individual manifestations. Durkheim thought of social facts as being external, coercive, and having existed prior to the individual. They exist on an individual and group level, as well as places where practices and belief have been in existence. These social facts existed externally to individuals, but yet influenced their behavior. According to Durkheim, it was through these social facts that helped influenced individual's social ties. Through the strengths and weaknesses of an individuals social ties, a rational and degree of committing suicide can be determined. From incorporating Durkheim's concepts and ideas on suicide, it will be clear as to what are the causes of suicide in the following two articles.
