Star Gate SG-1 is the most spectacular show that I have ever seen on television. The show is incredibly fun to watch with the awesome special effects, and the use of an ancient device that an alien species left behind on earth millions of years before called a star gate. Some of the most incredible special effects involve the star gate, itself, as it activates to make travel to distant worlds possible. In the show, SG-1, a Special Forces type team, moves out through the star gate exploring new worlds and interacting with new life forms. SG-1 gears up prior to departing on each mission and [,]once ready, they stand in front of the star gate. The opening of the gate appears like water rushing out toward them, which settles and appears to be a pool of calm, clear liquid. As SG-1 enters through the gate, they appear to dissolve into the pool. Upon SG-1's arrival on a distant planet, the real adventure begins, and things get interesting quickly. SG-1 always seems to encounter some new species or new land on these worlds they travel to. The special effects used for the alien species, and the beautiful landscapes they consider home, are incredibly fascinating. There are a large variety of alien creatures, both in appearance and size. The alien creatures are sometimes very hostile towards SG-1, and battles often break out between the team and the creatures. The battles are very exciting to watch and are enhanced by some very spectacular special effects. The team always seems to reap benefits from their trips abroad[:], newly gained knowledge or technology. The show is creative, witty, and filled with visual entertainment. SG-1 plays on USA network from 7pm to 10pm on Monday nights.
