Abstract .
In this modern world there is an emerging technology whose time has come. Current server operating systems do not properly address the issue of interference between competing applications. This deficiency is a major roadblock for Internet and Application Service Providers whose major clients are large organizations in the public and private sector, that need high levels of processing power, and want smooth running well-distributed server resources, combined with their other customer, the basic internet user who only cares that the service is there. Large corporations with their own needs for computational power and data storage space were having similar issues of conflicting applications and need for higher levels of data storage. These issues emerge due to the ISP, ASP's and large corporations network resources needing to be highly utilized by sharing them among as many business areas as possible at the same time. So to assure the highest level of efficiency and to decrease the rate of system failure, the answer has become highly reliable and powerful server farms. .
The main objective of this paper will be to thoroughly investigate and explain the topic of server farms, also sometimes known as server clusters, along with several peripheral issues involved in their implementation. .
