Prehistory VS. Civilization

Various differences can be found between the situation of humankind in prehistory and in civilization today. .
In prehistory, the tools and technology were very limited. This was the period of time in which the wheel and the plow were invented. There was limited access to tools and technology, which affected many areas of life. .
This time period was socially primitive as well. Men and women were hunter-gatherers, and likely shared relatively equitable roles and levels of responsibility in the household. Women were in charge of gathering food and the technologies with which to store it, and men were responsible for hunting the meat. This was the time when the domestication of some plants and animals occurred, and it was also the birth of farming. Farming was very small scale, and farmlands were common property. The labor in the fields was shared by both men and women. .
The first villages appeared in this time period, which prepared the culture for a move into a more civilized world.

New and different technologies appear often, which has helped shape farming, social life, and governmental practices. The social organization is also much more complex. There is greater wealth, a greater desire for wealth, larger cities, and organized government. .
New resources are discovered often, and the idea of common property ha disappeared. Instead, we see warfare over resources and land in the civilized world. .
