Relationships In 2002

The two of you have been together for one year and there's two months left of the school year. Separation is not on your mind at this point in time. You love this person. You want to spend the rest of your life with this person. You definitely feel that he or she's the one. It's March and the thought of graduation hasn't even crossed your mind as being a negative effect on your relationship. Or has it? You might be blocking it out to save the pain and tears for "later". .
             The two months fly-by and it's a week before graduation day. Everyone's discussing their future plans and what college they are planning to attend. College had never came up in your conversations. It's now time to discuss it. You both have fairly good grades and you both are planning to attend a university. The two of you come to realize that you are going separate ways. You are accepted to a four-year university , north of your hometown, and your boyfriend or girlfriend is attending a different university two hours away from yours. Now what's going to happen? .
             You seek advice from friends, and all you hear is negativity. The two of you want to stay together. Remember, the rest of your life? So you are willing to make the relationship work. The summer goes by which seems to be the quickest three months of your life. August comes and it's time to say goodbye.
             You go to college, not wanting to meet anyone. You"re fine with the person you have two hours away. The two of you spend hours every night on the phone, crying to each other and saying how much you miss each other. You promise to visit every weekend. You two promise to never give up on what means everything, your relationship. .
             You both meet friends at your new schools and feel more comfortable being there. You come to find life not so bad without your "other half". The nightly phone-calls soon start to decrease, the weekend visits reduce to every two weekends and eventually to non-existent.
