Question Responds

After a difficult pregnancy, Lucrezia died in 1519. Demonstrating his true feelings, Alfonso soon married his mistress, Lauri Diante, who gave him two sons. Browning's interest was sparked by this incident and brought about the creative dialogue of My Last Duchess. An event common in its time period grabbed a hold of Browning and became one of his most well known works.
Oftentimes, some of the greatest poetry is created from an experience that is personal to the poet. One such poet whose work piques the interest of many is John Keats. Just as any other poet, Keats has a very unique style. If one studies his poem, Ode to a Nightingale, they would find that in this poem, Keats deals with the beauty, perfection, and gracefulness of a nightingale. The idea of a nightingale in its perfection and beauty is what makes this poem seem so realistic. Did Keats come up with this poem in a dream of some sort? No, not exactly. This work was drawn from a personal experience that took place one day in the spring of 1819. A nightingale had built her nest near the home of he and Charles Brown, his roommate. Keats felt a continual joy in the song of that nightingale, and one morning he took his chair from the breakfast table to the tree where the nightingale had built her nest. He sat for hours listening to the song of that bird. At the end of this meeting, there it was, roughly Ode to a Nightingale. In the everyday sound of a bird chirping and singing, a writer was captured, and from such a simple moment of pleasure a profound work of art was born.
Though Browning and Keats are exceptional poets, perhaps there is none I hold so dear as T. S. Elliot. Like historical background and personal experience, a poet's family life can influence his work as well, and no other poem demonstrates that point as well as Elliot's The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock. The protagonist in this poem was dealing with many problems, but perhaps his most obvious conflict was his lack of relationships with women.
