Chaos

All that needs to be know is that we got him under control, convinced him that he was not in purgatory, that we were not devils trying to take him to hell, and we got him in a car and took him to Medieval Times. We told James we were taking him to a place where he could feel a little more comfortable and at home, but the look on his face told us that he wouldn't feel quite at home anywhere we could take him.
When we pulled into the parking lot in front of Medieval Times, James said, "This fortress could not defend against starving peasants with chickens for sword," and when we told him it was supposed to be a replica of a castle from his time he said, "Well, in my time castles were usually made of wood and at least had some sort of defense. This castle doesn't even have any arrow slits!" he finished incredulously. We tried to explain to him that this castle wasn't built for defense but for aesthetics but he couldn't believe that anything that big could be built for anything else but defense. .
After we convinced James that nobody would be attacking the castle, we led him into the lobby outside of the arena. According to James he was actually a knight before his unfortunate accident, which he claimed wasn't an accident but actually a devious trick that was played on him by a mysterious black knight who was after his lady. He seemed very upset about it and kept muttering, "I"ll have my revenge." When he saw the swords that were on sale in one of the gift shops he was amazed by how beautiful they were. He was particularly interested in the Japanese Samaria swords but after he found out that they weren't English he pretended that he didn't like them anymore. He basically demanded that my father buy him one because in his mind any self-respecting knight had to have a sword, so my father bought him the Charles V sword that James said looked similar to his old sword. .
James then began to strut around the lobby looking down his nose at everyone until he saw the King and Queen seated near the entrance of the arena.
