A key factor in causing obesity is inactivity. This inactivity causes an even greater problem. The more a person stays inactive the more energy it will require for the person to loose weight. A more active person will even burn more energy while eating than an inactive person. This is explained through the fact that less energy is required to move the food intake throughout the body in an inactive person (Mayer, 71). .
Obesity is linked to many diseases and physchological problems. Many of these problems are very serious and cause many other problems and complications to arise. High blood pressure and high cholesterol are characteristics of obesity. It has been found that obesity significantly increases the chance of a person having a coronary heart attack that could cause death. Obesity has even been linked to heart disease (Mayer, 100-105).
