Case 2.
I have personally reviewed all three of the following Web browsers and prepared this document.
1. Netscape 7.01.
Netscape has been around the browser world for some time now. It has evolved just as fast as Microsoft Internet Explore has (IE). In a business sense I don't believe that Netscape would be the right decision. Why? Well let me give the good things I found out about Netscape first. Netscape is fast, and runs well inside the newest OS's out today. It has an integrated Instant Messaging (IM) client which works well with AOL IM and ICQ. Some upgrades that were made from Netscape 6 are the UI improvements. Netscape offers a browser within it self called Mozilla. Netscape is really easy to maneuver around in with one touch tabs. The "My Sidebar" is very user friendly for even the most basic users. Now the bad things I have found with Netscape. I believe that Netscape is better for home users than for a business. Being tied in with AOL and ICQ give this site more of a personal feel. The programs take up 30MB of space. The browser is spoiled by pop-up ads. The Mozilla software, in the previous version had a great ad blocker, but with 7.0, this ad blocker is not present. Once you install the Netscape software it will place an AOL shortcut on your desktop, just begging for an employee to chat with friends online, instead of working. Don't get me wrong, an employee can chat just as easy with other browsers, but why give them an easy click away from doing it. Netscape was tested against IE and was very competitive. In some circumstances Netscape ran faster than IE, but slower in others.
