The vast majority of today's conflicts can be analyzed through Barbers opposite and competing forces. The conflict that will be analyzed in detail for this paper will be the Middle East conflict. This conflict was chosen because it presents the clearest example and the epitome of all the ills put forth in regards to jihads inadaptability and intolerance as well as MacWorld's uniformity and ever-expanding influence. The reason this case is the clearest to analyze is because it puts MacWorld's uniformity, and modernity directly against jihads intolerance, insecurity, and hatred.

Understanding the importance of this region, both superpowers exerted utmost effort in dominating the region. Russia used its financial and political assistance and relations with Arab nations, and the U.S employed close ties and military assistance to Israel. .
