Declaration Of Independence:

Although there were many changes to the Declaration of Independence after it was originally written, I believe that a few of the changes stand out more than others. Those changes, which I have chosen, I will voice my opinions on whether or not it should have been changed.
The first change that I would like to discuss is paragraph nine of the declaration of independence where a large portion what was written there was added to the rough draft. The part that was added in was, " He has called together legislative bodies at a place unusually uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public records for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measure." I believe that if I were the review board I would have added this in. I would have put in this piece because I feel it emphasizes how the king tried managed to get his way with the colonies. He did this by giving the representatives of the colonies an uncomfortable spot to meet and discuss the issues that the King would get his way on. I believe that they, Great Britain, should know what they have done to get their way and that we, as a whole, are truly angered by their childish behavior.
The second modification of the Declaration of Independence that I believe was an intelligent move on the review board was found in paragraph thirty-one. This whole paragraph was added. I believe that the paragraph should have been added because it accentuated the fact that Great Britain was an enemy to the United States of America. The Paragraph that was added was as fallows, " He has constrained our fellow citizen taken captive on the high seas to bear arms against their country, to become the executioners of their friends and brethren, or to fall themselves bay their hands." In this revision of the Declaration of Independence, it just stresses how Great Britain is attacking us by sending over armies to fight against their friends and families.
