I read the article "When Government Gets Mean" by Barbara Ehrenreich, and saw a different perspective towards government. Ehrenreich is a liberal, but some of her ideas are conservative. Ehrenreich, (oppose to Faux) believes in outside assistant, to help the nations problems. Ehrenreich believes that the political ideas evolved with time, and that their ideas changed, as conditions changed. Ehrenreich feel that, even though the democrat's political view is linked with big government, not all liberals have the same ideas, and some have changed their mind with time.
Ehrenreich believes that, when liberalists ask for improvements, conservatives right away suppose that, the left is asking for more capital. Many times great ideas are not put in to work, because of the different mentality of the liberalist and conservatives. Ehrenreich feels that, government supplies the nation with many aids, and the situation is much better in the United States then in other contries, but that does not mean that changes do not have to be made. Often when democrats ask for change, the conservatives mention all the benefits that the government has supplied to the nation, and nothing gets done. .
Ehrenreich argues that, the democrat's views are as important as they were years ago. She feels that the democrats cannot rely on government to settle the problems in society. Instead, society must dispute with government, and come up with solutions to solve the nations problems. Citizens must work together to achieve equal rights to all civilians, and stand up to government so they can accomplish their goals.
