            Multicultural Globalization and Wal-Mart.
             The company that we are researching is Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart has been in the process of going global and continues to do so, while it opens stores all over the world. Globalization is beneficial to Wal-Mart because it increases their profits and expands their marketplace. The theory that we are using is multi-cultural globalization in addition to Hofstede's Cross Cultural Dimensions. Through the five theory articles that we have researched we have found that it is beneficial for Wal-Mart to expand internationally. Within this paper we will review the company's history, and the change that they have been going through. Through the five theory articles, Is the International Business Research Agenda Running Out of Steam?, How to Think About Globalization, Culture, Communication, and the Challenge of Globalization, Engaging Globalization: Critical Theory and Global Political Change, and The Impact of the Multinational in the Development: An Ethical Challenge, we will show how going global is a positive aspect for a company with Wal-Mart's stature. .
             I. A Review of Wal-Mart's Change.
             Wal-Mart has changed its company's presence worldwide by opening stores in the United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, China, Korea, Germany and the United Kingdom. They began to expand globally in 1991 and has since then opened 1,277 stores internationally.
             Multicultural Globalization 2.
             A History of Wal-Mart.
             Sam Walton founded Wal-Mart in 1962. The first store opened in Rogers, Arkansas in the same year. By October 1969, Wal-Mart had become incorporated, and by 1970 started trading stocks as a publicly-held company. Within the first five years of operations, Wal-Mart's stocks continued to increase dramatically and eventually triple. In 1979 Wal-Mart experienced its first billion dollar year in sales with totals reaching $1,248,000,000. In April of 1983 the first SAM"S Club opened in Midwest City, Oklahoma.
