The building of churches is only just the beginning of the rise in religious rights that I would try to ensure. Along with the churches, I would encourage bible study and prayer groups for the members of the church to join. .
The governments of many countries in the world give little or no voice to the people. The Saddam Hussein administration is no exception. For years, the Hussein administration gave no voice to its people and made decisions without informing the public. However, now that the Saddam administration isn't in the picture, the Iraqi government can start to develop a new type of government. If elected Representative, I would make sure that the people of the nation had a voice in politics. Nothing would be done "behind the publics" back". I would make sure that the Assyrian people felt as if decisions were made with their consent and not just the choice of a leader. A government which rules without giving its" public a voice in decisions being made is basically telling its people that they have no rights within the nation. With the formation of a new government, this gives the Assyrians a great chance for their ideas to be heard. With the Hussein administration out of the way, Assyrians can voice their opinions without fear, and without fear, Assyrians are able to do things that were not options in the past such as run for office. If elected, I would try to assure the Assyrian people that government can be trusted and is there to listen to its" public. .
The Assyrian people, as mentioned before, are a people of great history and background. Just as Native Americans were to the United States, the Assyrians were to the Middle East. From the early days of western civilization to Mesopotamia to present day Iraq, the Assyrian people have always been a significant part of Middle Eastern history. However, the Assyrians of today have nothing to claim as their land. If elected representative, I would fight for a section of Iraq to be given back to the Assyrian people.
