Multiple Sclerosis: marijuana reduces the chronic often debilitating pain caused by a variety of injuries and disorders. These are just some instances where marijuana is needed for survival. Marijuana is far less likely to be abused, if it can even be abused, than any drug such as alcohol.
Marijuana verses alcohol is simple. Alcohol causes many diseases. Such as, liver cirrhosis, increased stroke risk, decreased mental performance, heart disease, peptic ulcers, hepatitis and various forms of cancer. Marijuana causes increased heart rate, blood pressure, and stress. Basically, almost anyone pot smoking or not would rather be in a room of 50 people who are smoking weed or smoked prior to; than a room of 50 people who are drinking or have reached their own personal limit no doubt.
As far as thought of "We support, export" goes, the United States needs this income. Marijuana can be processed here and taxed. So long as we can regulate we could get about 50,000 people out of jail; there's a cut expense already. Send our product out of country highly taxed to whomever and us and there's the explosive amount of income.

The legislative branch should be in pot smoking American's favor excitedly for the reason they say its legal money comes in and they get a pay raise. Yes, money talks as the saying goes; but people in our world today prefer to be praised than paid - in this case they would gladly receive both.
The executive branch would contribute towards the legalization not only because of pay raise, but because they get to put all the regulations on marijuana use, marijuana plantations; such as how it's grown, how much is grown, and who gets to be licensed to plant, grow, and process it.
The judicial branch gets to be the regulators. Judicial branch enforces what the executive branch makes the rules to be as far as use of marijuana and all the steps in supplying the processed product.
