Why CHANGE is important:.
- Change is necessary for survival.
- More profitable for business.
- Change offers the greatest opportunity for growth.
- Must learn and understand change, to bring society together.

Australia needs to develop a pipeline for innovation, a way to turn ideas into commercial success.
Right now there are too many ideas that are trickling away before they can be transformed into products and service that offer real economic and social benefit, instead they are going overseas.
The Howard Government (2000) focused on creating ideas culture, a country that generates v/s and importantly-acts and grants money to those.
Combination of skills, knowledge and experience; management level of understanding of science and its commericialisation; networks of, and links to, science entrepreneurs; scientist prepare to take ideas through from CONCEPT to REALISATION.
Achieving a smatter flow of ideas from conception to commericialisation is a key issue for Australia this yea, and into the future. Private and public sectors need to develop ways to work together more effectively. .

- Driving Forces: Direct behavior away from "how we are.".
- Restraining Forces: Decrease these forces which hinder movement from existing equilibrium.

The WHITE WATER METAPHOR is relevant to today's turbulent rate of constant and unpredictable change.
