High Noon is a western movie made back in the nineteen fifties. Carl Foreman wrote the screenplay and it was based on a magazine story "The Tin Star" written by John W. Cunningham. The star of the movie is Gary Cooper. The music and theme song of the movie was written by Dimitri Tiomkin, and lyrics by Ned Washington. The theme was sung by Tex Ritter. The movie was directed by Fred Zinnemann. .
This was an exciting movie considering it was a fifties black and white film. The whole movie was about the loyalty of a town marshal and the betrayal of the town. Gary Cooper who played Will Kane as the star of the movie is the marshal of a small western town. Kane put a man away to prison named Frank Miller. At the begging of the movie Millers posse rides through town as the towns people watch in shock. On this day Kane is retiring and also is getting married to Grace Kelly who plays a woman named Amy. Everyone in the town is afraid of the sight of Millers posse. The entire town wants nothing to do with Miller and his posse. Kane marries Amy, after the wedding the judge comes in and says "One more ceremony and Wills a free man, more or less" and asks him for his badge. But Kane was hesitant because the town hadn't had a new marshal yet. Kane replied by saying that he didn't want to give his badge away before the new marshal started. I think that Kane new something was going to happen and that is why he said that. Even the entire board of selectmen believed everything would be ok. .
The train station guy came running in the courthouse with a telegram saying that they pardoned Frank Miller. Everyone in the courthouse is flabbergasted and can't believe it. Because Miller is bad news. The train station guy proceeds to tell Kane that Ben Miller, Jack Colby, and Jim Pearce are waiting at the train station for Miller. The whole town thinks that the smart thing to do is for Kane to leave town, but he wanted to stay.
