Hemishpheric Arousal

There are different parts in the human brain that contribute to the way we think, behave, and feel, each situated in its own area of either the left hemisphere or the right hemisphere. From this, a theory has developed that when we think, depending on what we are thinking about determines which way our eyes will shift and recognise whether we are lying or stating the truth. Language and arithmetic abilities are controlled by the left hemisphere, so when someone is thinking about something to do with these subjects, they tend to look to the right. The right hemisphere consists of spatial and drawing abilities therefore when something of this kind is aroused, the subject should gaze to the left. Each action is the opposite of what one would think because through the human eyes, it is the opposite to what it is like on the other side of the optic nerves. It is the purpose of this report to see if eye gazing is an indicator of hemispheric arousal.
The hypothesis for this experiment is to find out whether subjects solving different hemispheric questions (IV) will demonstrate the appropriate eye gaze (DV) that is needed to support the theory.
The aim is to test the theory of eye gaze as an indicator of hemispheric arousal.
The participants of this experiment were a mixture of males and females, with an age bracket of 14-37. All of which just happened to be around at time of experiment. Although subject 4 was a last resort. .
Materials used for this experiment included paper, coins, pencils, and a calculator.
The investigation was implemented first by reading the to the subject, the terms of the experiment and what the subject is expected to do, then by asking the subject the specified questions in chronological order. After conducting the experiment, I explained to each subject the point of the experiment and how his or her results contributed to the overall result.
The average subject tended to look to the right 2.
