There are different parts in the human brain that contribute to the way we think, behave, and feel, each situated in its own area of either the left hemisphere or the right hemisphere. From this, a theory has developed that when we think, depending on what we are thinking about determines which way our eyes will shift and recognise whether we are lying or stating the truth. Language and arithmetic abilities are controlled by the left hemisphere, so when someone is thinking about something to do with these subjects, they tend to look to the right. The right hemisphere consists of spatial and drawing abilities therefore when something of this kind is aroused, the subject should gaze to the left. Each action is the opposite of what one would think because through the human eyes, it is the opposite to what it is like on the other side of the optic nerves. It is the purpose of this report to see if eye gazing is an indicator of hemispheric arousal.
The hypothesis for this experiment is to find out whether subjects solving different hemispheric questions (IV) will demonstrate the appropriate eye gaze (DV) that is needed to support the theory.
The aim is to test the theory of eye gaze as an indicator of hemispheric arousal.
The participants of this experiment were a mixture of males and females, with an age bracket of 14-37. All of which just happened to be around at time of experiment. Although subject 4 was a last resort. .
Materials used for this experiment included paper, coins, pencils, and a calculator.
The investigation was implemented first by reading the to the subject, the terms of the experiment and what the subject is expected to do, then by asking the subject the specified questions in chronological order. After conducting the experiment, I explained to each subject the point of the experiment and how his or her results contributed to the overall result.
The average subject tended to look to the right 2.
Enjoyment of arousal differs between people. ... Arousal can be considered uncomfortable by others. ... As such, they are easily aroused and the little things such as a nice meal, alcohol or meaningless conversations may greatly arouse them. ... Like hedonists, avoiders are mostly aroused but they don't like or enjoy the feeling of arousal. ... This type of people have low craving to arousal and they are privileged enough not to be easily aroused. ...
The James-Lange Theory says that our experience of emotion is our awareness of our physiological responses to emotion-arousing stimuli. ... The Cannon-Bard Theory states that an emotion-arousing stimulus simultaneously triggers both physiological responses and the subject experience of emotion. ... In the Two Factor Theory it is believed that to experience an emotion someone must be physiologically aroused and cognitively label the arousal. In other words, for you to get a reaction from something you must be able to consciously interpret the arousal. ... It is harder to prove that you need...
The solution states that moderate sympathetic activation increases female sexual arousal and may mitigate sexual arousal and orgasmic side effects (Lorenz, 2015). In order to boost the Ephedrine for improved sexual arousal and orgasm indicative to placebo, the individual must introduce a Paroxetine for lubrication and Sertraline for orgasmic effects (Lorenz, 2015). The study found a replication of these effects through a Premenopausal experiment that measured the arousal post exercise (Lorenz, 2015). ... Arousal was recorded after every set through Photoplethysmography, where a device measured...
An emotionally arousing event is not often approached with the same degree of feeling as it once was upon initial exposure. ... Memory circuitry is not shared for sexual arousal and possibly further modulations might be responsible for emotional memory related to sex. ... Ideal pleasantly arousing stimuli would avoid emotions related to sex and focus on truly nonsexually arousing portions of the brain. Hormones released due to sexual arousal might further complicate emotional arousal mechanisms by acting on it peripherally, causing a misleading increase in activation of the amygdala during ...
The group which who they are dissimilar to with, will tend to be the group that they perceive as emotionally and sexually arousing. ... The young child's disassociation will cause them to generate feelings of emotional arousal towards the group it sees as dissimilar to. This feeling of arousal will then eventually develop into a feeling of sexual arousal, subsequently influencing the individuals" sexual orientation. ...
Men's arousal still tends to exceed women's. These arousals may be found either pleasing or disturbing. ... Our imaginations greatly induce sexual arousal and desire. ... People may become aroused by fantasies. ... Some involve sexual motivation, especially lack of sexual energy and arousability. ...
Introverts experience greater arousal in response to lower-intensity stimulation (because of their lower neurological threshold of arousal) than extraverts, which results in their satisfaction at much lower levels of stimulation. ... This can be attributed to an extravert's desire to raise naturally low arousal levels in order to increase cognitive function. ... One explanation is that the mathematical and medical tasks performed by the surgeons are not so complex as to exceed the arousal threshold when music is added. ... Embrey (1972) have proven t...
