Gandhi

Well that is what politics is all about, the struggle of partisanship.
In part 6, the editor continues his bashing, this time moving to civilization in general. He bashes people that buy into the whole idea. He calls civilization a disease, one that is curable, but one that infects the English people. I feel he's just running his mouth. He uses almost 100 lines in the book to bash civilization, but in my view, he never really stated his point or real reason for his disgust with civilization. I feel that I am very open minded and I like when people are against something and provide valid point and view of the situation. But to me, he never gave me basis to buy into his views.
Beginning in part 7, the editor begins to explain the condition of India and why it is in that way. After reading several pages in these sections, I began to become pissed off. To me, the editor pretty much puts all of the blame on England. It just really gets to me when someone puts blame all on something else and doesn't take responsibility for its own actions. After a few sections I stopped reading because I really could not just take anymore. He just kept whining and complaining, and frankly, I felt that it was stupid. .
In chapter 3, it discusses Gandhi's views on violence. I think Gandhi is a tree hugger. He talks of peace and how violence is bad. I"m a believer in defense. I believe if something is wrong, and talking doesn't work, "Let's go to war." The whole world was shaped on war, on violence, and the quest for more land and resources. At first I thought Gandhi was just totally against violence, but then he contradicts himself, he says it's alright for revenge. I believe that something should either be right or wrong, black or white, not in middle, in the gray. He preaches on how violence is wrong, but in certain situations it's alright. I wish he would just make up his mind, is he for it, or against.
