Even though they sometimes compromise themselves, modern day female heroes hold big dreams in their heart and eventually have an epiphany about themselves and their dreams. .
Anne Marie is a typical Hawaiian surfer chick with hopes and dreams as big as her heart. Ever since a little girl, Anne Marie has surfed with her friends and trained to one day compete at Pipemasters. Living with her younger sister and friends, Anne Marie has a simple existence as a maid in one of the local resorts and surfing everyday. She is Seger's "hero as a non-hero: innocent, young and humble." Her dreams are clearer than day to her: compete at Pipemasters. Her world is pure, free from the influences of the outside world; but then again, she is stuck as well.
