             Intel Currently employs 53,637 people, in which 36 percent are minority and 25 percent are women. Intel's main headquarters is located in Santa Clara, CA and around 7,000 employees work at this facility. Other major locations include, Chandler, AZ, Hudson, MA , Colorado Springs, CO, and Rio Rancho, NM. There is also one Intel Facility located in Parsippany, NJ but it's not as large as others.
             Intel is well known for their high-tech semiconductor chips, especially the Pentium series chips. Many computers are powered by the Intel Pentium CPU. As of today, the Pentium4 3.28 GHz is the fastest Pentium processor.
             There are several reasons why Intel would be the job for me. The first reason is that the computer fascinates me. I would like to design better and more powerful computers, laptops, and PDAs in the future. Intel offers jobs for people like me in the hardware engineering department. Personally, I can contribute the skills that I will acquire from DeVry. I am currently pursuing the computer engineering degree and will hope to achieve this in a couple of years.
             Hardware Engineering is all about finding solutions. "As part of Intel Hardware Engineering, you'll work on teams that strive to do the right things right in designing, developing and implementing solutions for Intel ® hardware- (Intel Web). A major responsibility of Hardware Engineering is to integrate advanced microprocessors, chipsets, digital/analog components and firmware into motherboards, networking adapters and systems that meet the requirements of leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the industry (Intel Web).
             Hardware Engineering also includes systems design, analysis, simulation, validation and sustaining of PC boards, chassis and systems, network products and storage systems. Areas of specialization include digital/analog/RF circuit design, systems integration and peripheral design and evaluation (Intel Web).
