Drugs

There are only opinions and supposed theories on this issue. We have been taught over the years that drugs were bad and that they only affected the poor and less fortunate, turning them into crazy criminals, but this is not correct to any extent. The laws controlling and prohibiting drugs are the true culprits. Would our crime levels decline if drugs were legalized to some extent, or would we just increase the destruction of our country? .
Based on past experiences, drugs and guns are considered evil objects because the harm they have inflicted on society. We index evil with drugs and guns because we see them as dangerous, but are guns and drugs precarious if used for the right purposes? By right purposes, I mean as safety devices and pain reducers. Gun owner advocates argue that guns ward against social evils and protect us from harm. As for drugs, some doctors argue that marijuana helps to relieve pain in certain illnesses. With proper regulations and restrictions, drug and gun laws could spare to change.
The media takes some part in leading us to believe that drugs and crime go hand and hand, especially the use of guns and drug use. The issue of guns and drugs as evil objects do not take in account that there are actions behind these objects, mainly the action of a person. Looking at the Katovich and Wieting article, "The vote seemed to convey a predominant message that evil is more a matter or an individual's moral orientation than one associated with weaponry. Debates about the harm that guns themselves cause end up as statements about the dangers of transforming the things into harmful objects. The human actor, or a weak system, rather than the thing itself, becomes the focus for indexing evil." This passage puts into perspective that a drug will not cause harm if it is left alone. When people have access to drugs, they are at risk to misuse them. The same goes for guns.
