Communist Manifesto

The Communist Manifesto (1847) by Karl Marx and Fredierich Engels state that capitalism is an evolutionary phase in economic development, and that it would eventually self destruct and be replaced by a world where private property no longer existed. They believed a revolution was necessary to overthrow capitalism. This revolt was to be conducted by the factory workers, for they are the most valuable because the production rests in their hands. Marx and Engels prophesized that upheaval would occur as result of corporate greed, as cheaper wage and labor saving machinery would lead to higher profits. They go on to denounce capitalism saying that the capitalist class not only controls the means of production but also to control the beliefs of the people and that the ideology of free market system, as they claim, is comprised of distorted sense of reality which is designed to benefit the corporate executives. "Free market" "supply and demand" are simply myths circulated to serve the interests of capitalism. Therefore, corporations thrive on manipulation and the gullibility of the people. Communist Manifesto was not just a denigration of the Capitalist system but more a promotion of socialism. The promotion of socialism was the core of the author's objectives. The book was quite theoretical and had little statistical support.
