Christianity

The Christians and Islamic people both agree that sex is sacred and sex outside of marriage is forbidden. Sexual identity contributes to the flourishing of family life because it affects all aspects of the human's body and soul. Values of family life are stressed in an era when so many young people experience broken homes and divorce. Both religions want people today to learn about the dignity of married love and the value of chastity. Both religions recognise the role of woman in society has changed dramatically over the years. They also have very strong views on homosexuality which is increasing both in number and acceptance over the years.
Muslims accept sex provided that it is enjoyed in the right way. It is only prohibited during the Ramadan. Sex outside marriage faces harsh penalties. Adultery receives 100 lashes in the Quran. There are 80 lashes for false witness. Before the sentence is carried out 4 witnesses have to have claimed to see the very act according to the Quran. However what many other cultures are quick to ignore is that it is very unlikely there would be four witnesses, making this punishment very unliky in today's world. .
According to the Encyclical Humanae Vitae of His Holiness Pope John Paul sexual intimacy is seen as a noble thing and human life must be "actualised" within marriage. Catholics are called upon to follow this papal authority. Christians also follow biblical authority such as the 10 Commandment and quotes from the bible such as Phil 2:7 which "stresses a love that mirrors God's love." For the Catholics the Hebrew text, Genesis has the story of Adam and Eve where man and woman become "one flesh" justifies sexuality within marriage. The Islamic people agree with the Christians that marriage is an inseparable connection.
The Muslims feel that contraception within marriage is accepted to preserve the woman's health, domestic harmony and their financial position, however this reflects a lack of trust in god.
