Cloning

Others argue that clones could be made simply for their organs; throwing away a human life after its organs have been given to patients. However, it is important to remember that one of the first cloning experiments involved getting a human ear lobe to grow on a mouse. It is possible to clone only organs without cloning full humans. This would be a great leap in the medical industry and would avoid the current problem of organs being sold on the black market.
Another question posed is that of who the parents of a clone would be. They wish to ensure that cloned children are not treated as objects. Biologically, the human from whom a clone is made is the parent. However, oftentimes, this person is not prepared to act as a parental figure for his clone. As the ethicists would agree, it is important to remember that a clone is not just a clone but more importantly, a human being like all of us. Therefore it is important to raise a clone as such. Cloneco realizes this and therefore as a policy will require that clients wishing to create clones ensure that an atmosphere suitable for a developing human be available to any clones created. Cloneco would also perform extensive background checks on all clients as well as psychological evaluations to ensure that they will perform their duties to the fullest. This stipulation is part of Cloneco's charter, however, as cloning will most likely be adopted by other corporations eventually, it is suggested that the government of the nation in which the corporation is located develop cloning laws to ensure such guidelines.
Many also fear that cloning will lead to a form of eugenics. They fear that certain types of people will be favored over others and more of those people will be created. This is almost identical to the question of creating designer babies. Problems that may arise from this, however, have already been solved. - in the United States at least.
