            Approximately 19 million Americans are affected each year. Almost two-thirds of all cases are not treated and 4 out of the 20 in this class will experience some form of this illness in their lifetime. Today I am going to inform you about clinical depression, a treatable mood disorder, which has many different sign, symptoms and causes. .
             First, what exactly is clinical depression? Depression is more than the blues or the blahs; it is more than the normal, everyday ups and downs. Depression is a psychological condition that changes how you think and feel. Depression also affects your social behavior and sense of physical well-being. We have all felt sad at one time or another, but that is not necessarily depression. Sometimes we feel tired from working hard, or discouraged when faced with serious problems; this too, is not depression. Once we adjust to the stress, these feelings usually pass within a few days or weeks. But, if these feelings linger, intensify, and begin to interfere with work, school or family responsibilities, it may be depression. .
             Millions of people suffer from clinical depression. Young, old, gender, race, social status, it doesnt matter, anyone can experience clinical depression. Many people think depression is normal, however, no matter what the situation, depression is never "normal." (NMHA) .

             It is also important to know and see the signs and symptoms of depression. Depression can affect anyone. Once identified, most people diagnosed with depression are successfully treated.
