10. You shall not covet your neighbor's goods; you shall covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his manservant or maidservant or anything else that is your neighbor's". .
In today's culture, people are trained to practice the Christian faith. Millions of children are baptized each day and the majority of them will go on for the rest of their adult lives practicing Catholicism. But how many of these children will actually practice the faith non-superficially? This question remains to be answered. How many people have had sex before marriage, or catholic women that have had abortions, or people that have committed adultery. How many have gone on with their lives, and the catholic community has not shunned or lost ounces of sleep. For many people, going to church on Sunday is a social gathering where they can say hello to friends or family, not to worship god. In other religions if any of these traits were disobeyed people would be exiled from that community.
There are many issues in the world today, and unlike other right-wing extremist religions, Christians handle these problems differently. For instance, one of the major problems that affect us today is the problem of pollution. As Jesus said to his followers, he said that everybody should love the earth because she is our mother. Christianity is a believer that pollution of the earth is bad except when it has to be done. "Man is given dominion to choose when it has to be done." Jesus said that hunting was okay only if the meat was to be eaten. That's fine except for the fact that many animals are endangered due to the fact of overkill. Christianity also believes that certain types of exploitation is okay, but now we have exacerbated the situation to a point of no return. Jesus himself was a peaceful man and a lover of all living things, so there is a severe misinterpretation of his beliefs. Another major issue that affects Christians today, and in the past is the issue of war.
