The deadly explosions that ripped through two popular nightclubs in Kuta on the Indonesian resort island of Bali have been labeled the worst single terrorist attack since September 11. The Bali bombings killed nearly 200 people and most of them young Australians. However, there are more than three hundred people injured. On the other hand, many of the bodies recovered have yet to be named as doctors say dozens of victims were burned beyond recognition or simply blown to pieces by the power of the massive blasts. This country is in a state of shock after the monstrous and cruel events in Bali that left hundreds of Australians killed, maimed or missing.
The Bali bombing was the worst in the country history. There were more than a hundred injured in the Saturday nights attack on the Indonesian island. Australians, Germans, French, British, and Americans were included in the ones that were injured. However, President Bush offered the United States assistance to the Indonesian government. Bush concluded that these bombs were set off to "create terror and chaos." People came out, one by one as the blast tore up the Sari Club which caters to the international visitors. This explosion rattled windows at least six miles away. The U.S. and Asian intelligence authorities have linked the attacks to al Qaeda terrorist's network. These attacks are synchronized, simultaneous bombings; this is a tactic in an al Qaeda training manual. .
The British and American governments are warning all tourists to stay out of Indonesia. However, the US has warned Americans not to travel to Indonesia because there was a bombing earlier this summer. The U.S. State Department had issued a "worldwide caution" on October 10, because they feared an attack was going take place in the west. People were warned about Indonesia in the past, but Bali was exempt because it is Hindu. Since Bali was a tourist attraction it may face the same destiny as Egypt.
