Bonnie And Clyde

I think that the film Bonnie and Clyde was an example of a typical gangster film. Some elements that make the film a typical example of a gangster film are that the action takes place in a rural depressed town. No one really sees any action. The characters are typical of the genre. For instance, Clyde, the gangster hero, is a cocky loner and Bonnie, the gun moll, becomes his companion, lover, and partner in crime. C.W., Blanch, and Buck act as Clyde's henchmen. There are some conflicts that are representative of a gangster film. They are the struggle between the gangsters (evil) versus the social order/police (good). There were also conflicts within the gang, for instance Bonnie versus Blanch. And a main struggle is Clyde against himself because he is fighting his feelings for Bonnie in the beginning of the movie. The film ends with Bonnie and Clyde and Buck killed. And Blanch and C.W. will be jailed. The basic values are affirmed- justice prevails, good over evil, crime never pays, etc. The conventions of major importance to the genre are in the film. Like the use of large guns, many chase scenes, and cigars. .
The only atypical element within the film is the fact that almost all the action occurs during the day. .
I thought that this film was very good. There was a lot of action and the acting was great. I didn't know that the story of Bonnie and Clyde was so interesting.
