Dead Poets Society


He has his students stand on desks in order for them to have a broader perspective on life. In one seen has them tear out an entire section in their class textbook "the section that made poetry look like it was something that could be put into a strict tradition. With his free spirited nature and witty charismatic behavior, Keating fascinates his student -the seven in particular "and quickly gains their respect and admiration. His passion for poetry is so skillfully presented, and their admiration for him makes them more than willing to learn, that it becomes easy for his message to charms its way into his student's minds, and instill itself in their actions. .
             After discovering that Mr. Keating was once apart of a mysterious Dead Poets Society, the boys chose to confront him in question of what it is. Seeing that it was really what advocated his desire to express himself and seize the day, Keating explains that it was a group that met in a secret cave located near Welton, where they read poetry aloud, and indulged in trying to live life to its fullest. Fascinated, the boys take Keating's lesson to heart and see the secret Dead Poets Society as a way to seizing the day, and daringly set out to reform the group. What happens after this group is formed is truly entertaining, as the boys discover that living life to its fullest requires that they must all learn to stand up for who they are, which is sometimes hard when living in a conformist world.
             Perhaps one of the most striking aspects of this move is in the characters extremely human like portrayal of the movies theme. Despite all of their complexities the people involved in this story are actually simple people. The dead poets society is made up of seven boys, yet four in particular show us the story. Josh Charles plays Knox a rather romantic poet, who is foolishly in love w/ a girl that he would most likely never have.
