Abortion

The methods each group takes to limit the number of abortions are very different, and beliefs about which abortions are justifiable are also very different between the two groups. This is why the pro-choice and pro-life people are unable to cooperate.
In the United States, the pro-life and pro-choice movements have been both powerful and active. Pro-life groups have been especially active at the state level, where many states have created laws that restrict the use of abortion. However, many of these laws are very broad in definition, and many of them have been ruled unconstitutional shortly after enactment. Many other laws that are in existence are often ineffective because abortion seekers will "shop" in states that will perform and abortion. The recent approval of the drug RU-486 will also change the abortion game forever. The drug allows a woman to perform an abortion at home, and because of this drug the pro-life and pro-choice tension has escalated.
The pro-life movement generally argues that life becomes a human being at the instant of conception, when a unique DNA is created. A single-celled, just fertilized ovum (see picture) is simply what a human being looks like at the start of life. Any intentional termination of the developing process from conception to birth is thus considered a form of homicide. These people argue that abortion is immoral, and should be outlawed. There are many variations of beliefs among pro-lifers:.
             - A very few amount of pro-lifers would outlaw abortions entirely. .
             - Almost all pro-lifers would allow abortions if continued pregnancy would cause the death of the woman.
             - Many would permit an abortion if the pregnancy resulted from rape or incest .
             - Some would make abortions available if continued pregnancy would result in very serious damage to the woman's health and/or long-term disability.
             - Other pro-lifers would allow the use of emergency contraception, which might result in the death of a just-fertilized ovum before the ovum attaches itself to the inner wall of the womb and pregnancy begins.
