The View of Toledo is a famous painting by El Greco. El Greco is an artist who was born in 1541 and died in 1614. The View of Toledo is now located in the in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the H.O. Havemeyer collection.
The sky is the first art of the painting I am going to describe. The sky is located at the top of the painting and goes down to about a quarter. The color of the sky is many colors mixed together. The colors that make up the sky are; violet purple, teal green, and sky blue. .
The mid section of the painting is made up of hills and the city of Toledo. Below the sky is the countryside. The city is located in the upper right hand corner with the sky drooping over it. The city stretches from the right side of the painting to about mid point of the painting. The city looks over the countryside covered with lots of grass hills and trees. There is a bridge that leads to the other side of the painting where there is a couple of buildings sitting on top of grass hills. The city of Toledo looks like a huge castle sitting in the middle of the country.
Below the mid section o the painting is the bottom of the painting. The bottom is full with lots of hunter green trees and grass. The grass looks like it hasn't been mowed in about one year. In the middle of the trees and grass is a stream that flows down under the bridge. The water of the stream is dark blue and dark green. There is a rock located in the left side of the stream, which blocks the water from the left side.
The View of Toledo is a famous painting by El Greco. This painting is a gloomy but nice painting of a city and countryside. This painting is now located in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This has concluded my paper. I hope that now you can picture this painting in your head.
