The Death Penalty

These points show directly why the death penalty should be used. With out the death penalty, people's lives .
             .
Are at stake with the criminals around. .
The death penalty provides justice for the survivors. The old "eye for an eye" philosophy works well here. In society today, "We show our regard for human life by the adoption of a rule that he who violates that right in another forfeits it for himself" (Early Prison Release Linked With Slaying). If the death penalty were enforced in similar situations, the people who can't follow rules wouldn't threaten our society any more. The killer should be subjected to the same experience as the victim. As prisoners have said, "Being a death row inmate is cruel and unusual punishment.so is being a victim" (Sullum private files). Being the victim, all the rights of being a U.S. citizen are violated. The killer ought to be punished for his crime. The death penalty is the final resolution for killers. Death is the end of life, "Capital punishment is the ultimate sanction, the total solution" (Mathews 1). The death penalty is the only true way to prevent killers from killing again. The death penalty is proven to be the only true justice for the remaining survivors. If a killer thinks he has the right to kill, then he doesn't deserve to have the right to live. .
The death penalty is a deterrent to crime. The basic human fear of death would keep most people from committing crimes. It has been said that "there is not one normal human being on the face of the earth who doesn't fear death" ('The Death Penalty Will Discourage Crime"). It is basic human nature to fear death. Most people don't want to die, therefore with the death penalty in use, they wouldn't comment crimes. The death penalty is immediate punishment. With the death penalty, "He knows that he will be immediately carried to prison and be put to an ignominious death" ("The Death Penalty Will Discourage Crime).
