Symbols: You will soon learn very well that symbols are my weakest literary aspect. Because of this I was unable to find any for this chapter. .

Jerry Renault-5"9", 145lbs. Jerry is very insecure with his current status in life. He will do anything to avoid confrontation by not saying what he feels. He is a lonely soul yearning to be apart of something, in the case the football team.
My Questions: Why did the chapter start with "And they murdered him." Was it just that he was getting tackled left and right, or was it a real murder to be revealed later on.
Chapter2: Right off in chapter two we are introduced to Obie (Costello?) and Archie Costello. This start of the chapter proved to be a very confusing one for me. As a result I re-read the beginning blurp about the book, this explained that these two boys were members of a group called The Vigils. These boys were watching the football game, of which Jerry was in but is not in the present due to an injury, and while they were watching the game they were picking out different people from the team and writing their names on a pad. They were referring to these persons that they picked as ones that they were going to give assignments to. One person was assigned to the sidewalk but Jerry, when selected, was assigned to Chocolates. It's difficult to tell but I think that these two boys are brothers. Obie continues to refer to Archie as a bastard, this tells me that they probably aren't friends but are either brother's or simply just part of the same group.
